Kanchenjunga Region is situated at north eastern part of Nepal with the border of India. The region is situated in Kanchenjunga Conservation Area and Mt Kanchenjunga lies in it, the world’s third highest peak (8,598m). The areas have eleven peaks higher then 700m and also several glaciers. The region is famous for a global hotspot of plant diversity.
The region is home to Limbus, close relatives of Rais, which offer fascinating cultures, including shamanism. The local communities practice transhumance system of cattle rearing which includes yaks. The area has traditional way of life style of various ethnic groups through their cultural and religious practices.
The best time to visit the park is autumn (October-November), and spring( March and May)
